Virgil Abloh led Louis Vuitton menswear from 2018 until his death in 2021, and he built his era on mixing the house’s luxury codes with streetwear, workwear and youth culture. His FW21 collection, one of the last he showed, pushed that further. This shirt is a clear example: a classic denim shirt covered in the LV Monogram with a tie-dye effect.
The multicolor tie-dye breaks up the familiar flowers and LV initials, so the 150-year-old Monogram looks like something dyed by hand at a summer festival. It’s a collectable piece from the Abloh era, released in 2021.
